Lynne West

Lynne West

Public Affairs Director

My memories of the last British Pageant in 2013 were of an amazingly uplifting event. Everything was just perfect and we all came away on a spiritual high. It must have been such a fantastic experience to have taken part in this event and I feel it such a great blessing to have been called to be a part of this historic occasion in 2017. It makes me proud to be British and even more proud of my LDS British Heritage. As we learn of ‘Our story’ our hearts are full of gratitude, love and respect for those early Saints who sacrificed so much. We need to tell this amazing story far and wide! We need to pay tribute to our pioneer ancestors in their role as ‘Truth Seekers’. We need to bring Light in this world of darkness….. In Public Affairs we will be reaching out to those not of our Faith, using different media and inviting them to share in our miraculous story.

Ben Gaughran

Ben Gaughran

Musical Director – Core & Family Cast

My responsibilities include participating in choir auditions that will be held around the country and working closely with the family cast and core cast to help them learn the music for the pageant.

"I was Assistant Music Director in 2013 and had a wonderful experience serving with the saints who showed such love, commitment and dedication to the work and the Saviour. I am so excited to again have the opportunity to share the gospel through music. This work really is of God!"
Elizabeth Trebilcock

Elizabeth Trebilcock

Musical Director - Choir

I am responsible for live choir in the pageant, which includes finding and encouraging those who both love the Lord and love to sing His praises. I will work closely with choir members and hold rehearsals to help them learn the music technically - and also expressively - in order to convey the spirit of these beautiful songs, telling such heartfelt stories that uplift the soul and bring us closer to our Saviour and Father in Heaven.

"I am really excited to take part in the Pageant. It was my privilege to serve as Music Director for the 2013 Pageant. I know that music can help provide a wonderful way of sharing the gospel and helping people feel the spirit both for those who participate in the choir and those who listen. Music plays such a large part of the Pageant and a live choir brings an added depth and beauty to the experience."
Fabrizio Poli

Fabrizio Poli

Pageant Accommodation Director

I am responsible for trying to identify reasonably priced accommodation both for the core and family cast, crew and visitors. I will be identifying local hotels, camp sites and other places to stay. I will also be working with local members to may be able to provide a bed for visiting work crew or others. Chorley is close to a good motorway network and for Church members there are a lot of historical places to visit in the area where the the beginnings of Pageant story actually took place including Preston, the River Ribble, Liverpool Docks and Maritime Museum as well as Downham and Chatburn villages.

"In 2013 I participated in the Pageant with my wife and children as part of the Family cast. It was an amazing experience and I encourage any member to seriously consider being part of this amazing event, much better than a holiday on the beach, even though Blackpool isn’t that too far from Chorley!!"
Alexandra Johns

Alexandra Johns

Artistic Director

As Artistic director I help cast and performers to take ownership of telling their story. In other words, the truly creative work comes from the cast. The artistic director helps to create the environment in which the cast can really express themselves in creative, inspiring and faith promoting ways on stage.

"The opportunity to serve together in telling these sacred stories of faith and sacrifice is such a privilege. The whole experience is a testament to the scripture, "
Emily Young

Emily Young

Assistant Stage Manager

My role in the pageant as Assistant Stage Manager involves helping backstage inboth rehearsals and during performances, and making myself as useful as possible during the whole process!

"I have been surprised and delighted to be welcomed as a newcomer to the Pageant team. I did have the opportunity to see the Pageant when it was last in Britain and remember taking away the joy and the tremendous atmosphere home with me. I have felt the spirit strongly as I've worked on other gospel projects such as youth conferences and choir and orchestral performances, and know that this pageant is going to open the windows of heaven again. In the short time since being called to this role, I have already felt the Lord's hand in it. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve and grow."

"The 2013 pageant was a beautiful and memorable experience, and one that will stay with me. As such, I am delighted to be working on the 2017 pageant, particularly as I have a profound interest and respect for early Latter-day Saints. I am honoured to be part of this wonderful work. Linda Beverley

Pre-Pageant Director

I am responsible for ensuring that the spirit of the Pageant is felt from the moment one sets foot on the grounds through games, crafts, dancing and other activities that will whisk people back in time to the 1800’s.

"I was privileged to be Director of pre-pageant activities in 2013, working with Carol Wild. We were overwhelmed by the joy that was felt and excitement as people streamed on to the field. It was a very special time and I especially remember talking to a young man after a performance. He was standing at his seat, still staring at the stage long after people around him had gone to the exits. With tears in his eyes he said, ‘It’s true, isn’t it?’"
David Siswick

David Siswick

Financial Director

What a delightful surprise to be called to serve in the British pageant 2017!

"In 2013 I had a wonderful experience participating in the pageant firstly, in the recording choir and then singing in the choir at the pageant. My overriding feeling of that at experience was one of unity, peace and love for everyone. In fact, to me, it seemed like being in Zion. I thought the pageant experience was wonderful. However, two of our best friends attended the pageant and they loved it. Subsequently, we had the marvellous blessing of attending their baptism, and a year later their sealing in the temple. Words cannot express the feelings in our hearts on those two special days, our hearts were full. It was a wonderful miracle for me."

Accommodation Support

Our task is to assist The Pageant Accommodation Director by enlisting members from local wards and branches who can offer suitable sleeping accommodation, and matching them with members of the cast and crew who live too far away to travel home during the intensive rehearsal and performance period.

"We thoroughly enjoyed the spirit of love and teamwork and being a small part of something miraculous in the first British Pageant, as we sang in the choir, directed traffic and helped with pre-pageant activities and post-performance clean ups, and we are delighted to be able to participate again and offer our support in this new role. I felt privileged in 2013 to be able to work so closely with the amazing cast, crew & volunteers and to witness their incredible desire to serve in this capacity and to sacrifice so much to be there and the huge blessings that came from that. "I feel incredibly blessed to have served in various ways on the British Pageant in 2013 in Chorley and then 2014 and 2015 in Nauvoo. Truly learning to lead in the Saviour's way has fundamentally changed who I am. I love meeting the casts who choose to sacrifice their time (and so much more!) to be part of this great work and I feel it a privilege to serve them in any way I can. I know that as you participate in the British Pageant you will grow closer as a family and closer to your Heavenly Father."

Family Support Lead

I have been called to lead the family support team. I'm really looking forward to working with all the families to help them have fun and spiritually uplifted by the pageant experience.

"Due to other commitments I couldn't get involved in the pageant last time but I saw the positive influence it had on my fiends who were involved. This time I decided I really wanted to get involved. I'm not a performer and so I knew I wanted to do something behind the scenes. When I was called as family support lead I knew it was perfect for me. It's something I really enjoy doing and I still get to be involved I the pageant. I have already felt what an inspired programme this is and know this is just the start. No matter where your talents lie there is a way you can get involve and feel the spirit of this wonderful programme."

Nicola Louise Brophy

Nicola Louise Brophy

Pageant Photography Team Leader

"Being involved in something as big as the British Pageant is quite intimidating. As a mother of two small children it was a calling that I was a little wary about with the time commitments attached, but immediately I can see that this is going to be a blessing in my life. Although my role as a photographer is on the sidelines by nature I am able to be a fly on the wall to the love and commitment of the committee members, a witness as the feelings of the holy spirit enter the room when the lines of the script are read and the creator of a document of testimony added upon testimony. As I review images I can see emotions stirred and spirits touched even at this beginning stage. I know that it is through serving to build the Kingdom of God that I will receive the strength to face my own challenges and the added strength to be a hand reaching to help others in theirs. This will be the effect the Pageant will have on every individual involved at every stage if they open their hearts. What an honor!"

"Being part of a pageant is a unique opportunity to be nurtured and to nurture others. I was a member of the core cast in 2013 and found the whole experience incredibly uplifting. I have been able to take the lessons I learnt into my heart, into my home, into my business and into my church assignments. I feel very blessed to have been extended this opportunity, to renew my soul and belief system, whilst developing existing talents. I am thankful that I will have this brief moment to serve, to grow and to continue to learn how I can be a better Latter-Day saint, wife, mother and friend."

"We took part in the British Pageant Family Cast in 2013, and again in Nauvoo in 2014. These were truly glorious experiences which helped to bond our family together and enrich our testimony of Jesus Christ. We were welcomed, loved and nurtured through both of those special Pageant summers and we hope to pass this on to you. Costuming Lead

"I am so happy to be 'Sewing With Love' in preparation for the British Pageant 2017 and to be called as the Costuming Lead. I feel for the comfort of those on stage whose acting, singing and 'moving with joy' depicts so beautifully the history of the beginnings and growth of the Church in the British Isles. I remember with fondness the dress rehearsals and subsequent performances of the British Pageant 2013. The dedication and love of the current British Saints came together to honour the faith and willingness of early saints and brought alive again the strength of the characters on stage. It was a truly beautiful experience which deeply touched our whole family. I am on a Church Service Mission serving from home with my husband as the Directors of the newly created Church History Records Preservation Center here in Britain. So grateful to be able to extend our mission experience from gathering and storing history to assisting in the re-making of history through involvement with this years Pageant."

One cause, one goal and the Love of Christ shared by all. What a fantastic repeat opportunity. I hope not to have to meet you ‘whilst on duty’ but look forward to caring for your health and well-being, to enhance the best of Spiritual experiences. I am only one cog in the machine that is the Pageant but I am happy to be involved once again. Steve Edwards

Director of Security

"Like many of the Pageant team I’m a big fan and returning member of the 2013 Cast and Crew. At the last Pageant I was looking for a chance to take part in this historic event without having to inflict my dubious singing and acting talents on an unsuspecting public. I was willing to hammer and paint or help in any other way until I heard that there was a need for volunteers on the security team. As a retired Metropolitan Police officer with a background in security management I thought I’d make a pitch for the role. My 2012 stint as a group leader for the Olympic Games security operation had given me a taste for helping out with large crowds in an unobtrusive way and, with the leadership help of the Pageant Presidency and the Preston Temple Security Team, I agreed to take on the role of Steward Security Leader. I was so impressed with the organisation and willingness of all involved; the Temple Security team were superb and both the professional and volunteer workers did an excellent job. It quickly became apparent that previous security experience wasn’t that necessary and enthusiasm and a positive and accommodating outlook helped overcome most challenges. We had some fantastic volunteers of all ages, shapes and sizes and I sincerely hope that lots of them show up again this year for a security team ‘reunion’. In the end I only got to see one whole performance all the way through but being constantly busy was really part of the ‘buzz’ of being involved as a Pageant Volunteer and I loved every minute of it. Acting as the Director of Security for the 2017 British Pageant means that I’ll get to meet even more great people who are willing to give up their time and talents to help us make the occasion a safe, enjoyable and fun event for the thousands of people who will travel thousands of miles to enjoy the show. I look forward to working with all the volunteers who would like to take on this vitally important role and be a part of the security team."

Words cannot describe how excited I am to participate in the British Pageant! The gospel and dance are two of the most special things in my life, and now I have the opportunity to bring them both together. After watching the pageant last time, there was no question that, if it ever came around again, I would endeavour to be apart of it. My wish was granted, and I can not express how grateful I am! I cannot wait to work with everyone, and be an instrument for the Lord in sharing His gospel.

I am trilled to be a part of this upcoming Pageant. I have a degree in Dance Performance but haven't had the opportunity to bear my testimony though dance in a very long time. I feel incredibly blessed to share the stories of the early Saints who sacrificed so much for their faith, with those in attendance at the Pageant. It will be a real honor. I know that as we dance and work hard to share the testimonies of these early members of the church, that we will be able to fell their spirits near and we too will be strengthened. This will be my first time participating in a pageant and I am very excited.

I've always loved to dance, and one of the best aspects of the Pageant for me is being able to dance to express my testimony. Such a rare and treasured opportunity! I was a dancer in the Pageant last time it was here in 2013, and it was a life highlight. I learned so much, and became more through trying my best to serve. I'm going to love every minute, every twirl, every note sang, and every opportunity that arises to cherish and share this experience.

Words cannot express my gratitude or excitement with the chance to be a part of this production! I was a YPM and dancer in the Nauvoo Pageant in 2013, and heard rumors of the British Pageant across the sea. Then was lucky enough to help it in production in Nauvoo in 2016, and am thrilled it's returning to the land that it portrays so beautifully. We've all experienced how music, dance, and theater can bear witness of divinity in a special way, and as we pay homage to these incredible early saints, I'm so pleased to be able to join in that witness of Heaven's love.
